Storytelling today at a mound site on a high ridge in Hocking County, OH. The land owner has put the property into conservancy so that the mound never will be disturbed. I arrived at 7:30 and didn't leave until 2:30. Around 90 made the hike through a gorgeous fall forest UP hill, DOWN hill, and UP hill around two miles to reach the site. It was a glorious place to bless with the smudge, a cedar fire, moving through the four directions around the mound, flute music by a Shawandasse friend, the Drum, and then traditional Shawandasse stories. Clouds, rain, sunshine, and back to clouds without anyone noticing anything but their oneness with the place and the power of the stories and songs. Good day!

I just enrolled in the insurance program. It looks great. I've often wondered if the venues where I performed had insurance. Now I'm covered whether I'm performing or traveling to or from the event. What a deal!

I'm a Shawnee Indian storyteller and an historical educator and actor. My son, Ross (aka Stoneburner) is the 2011 SASS Midwest Region Mounted Grand Champion and All-Around Cowboy. He and I also are part of an 1812 Dragoon unit. We portray several characters from 1750 through 1930. He and I perform as Shawnee ranch owner and foreman at Old West Festivals. I also am a wildlife and action photographer. In my free time, I write scripts and perform voice-overs. I retired a year ago as a pastor (never let go of my culture) after 41 years of service.
